Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco launched: Key specs, features, India price and everything else

 HMD Wednesday announced the Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 2018 and Nokia 8 Sirocco for the Indian market. The phones were previously announced at MWC 2018 and some have gone on sale in as well in countries like China. India has been one of the focus countries for HMD and the company hopes that its new lineup of phones, along with the Nokia 1 that was launched a few days ago, will help the company move up in hyper-competitive smartphone market.
The Nokia 7 Plus and the new Nokia 6 are mid-range handsets and arguably the most important phones for the Indian market right from a price perspective. They both bring appealing new designs and are part of the Android One initiative, which means stock Android and timely updates for two years. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is the companys first flagship for the year and not only brings an attractive glass design, but is also and Android One phone with top-notch hardware.
Specifications
Display: The Nokia 7 Plus sports the biggest display among the three with a 6-inch full HD+ IPS display and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with a 5.5-inch quad HD pOLED display, while the Nokia 6 (2018) sports a 5.5-inch full-HD LCD display.
Processor: The Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with last years flagship Snapdragon 835 processor, while the Nokia 7 Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC and the new Nokia 6 gets a Snapdragon 630 chipset.
RAM: The Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 (2018) are offered with 6GB, 4GB and 3GB of RAM, respectively.
Internal storage: The Nokia 6 is offered with 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB. The Nokia 7 Plus comes with 64GB of storage, expandable up to 256GB, while the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available with 128GB of inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable.
Rear camera: Both the Nokia 7 Plus and 8 Sirocco bear similar dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary wide-angle lens and a 13-megapixel secondary telephoto lens with dual-tone flash. The Nokia 6 gets a single 16-megapixel sensor with dual-tone flash.
Front camera: The new Nokia 6 bears an 8-megapixel sensor up front, while the Nokia 7 Plus gets a 16-megapixel front camera with Zeiss optics and the Nokia 8 Sirocco sports a 5-megapixel sensor with display flash
Software: All three Android One phones will ship with stock Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.
Battery: The Nokia 8 Sirocco houses a 3,260mAh battery and is the only phone among the three to support Qi wireless charging. The Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 pack 3,800mAh and 3,000mAh battery, respectively.
Special features:
-- One of the biggest highlights about the three new Nokia phones is that all of them are part of the Android One initiative, which means they will ship with pure Android software without any bloat along with a guarantee of timely security updates for at least two years. This also means that all three phones can be expected to receive Android P and Q in the future.
-- Around 95 per cent of the Nokia 8 Sirocco is made up of glass and the front also sees a 3D curved glass on top the display. The curved design along with slim bezels on the top and bottom gives it a premium look and feel. Additionally, the phone comes with Dual-Sight, ZEISS optics and Nokia spatial audio among other things.
-- Both Nokia 6 (2018) and Nokia 7 Plus are machined from a single block of series 6000 aluminium and sport copper accents around the camera and the frame, giving them an appealing look.
-- The Nokia 7 Plus is the only phone among the three to come with a tall 18:9 FHD+ display. The Nokia 8 Sirocco does come with slim bezels, but it still features a standard 16:9 display.
-- All three phones also come with Face Unlock and USB Type-C. The cameras on the Nokia 7 Plus and 8 Sirocco also come with a Pro mode feature allowing you to manually set the white balance, exposure, ISO among others.
-- HMD also announced the launch of the Nokia Mobile Shop which is an online store where customers can buy the Nokia phones and accessories in India.
Price and availability:
The Nokia 7 Plus comes in a single storage option of 4GB + 64GB which has been priced at Rs 25,999 in Black Copper and White Copper colours, while the new Nokia 6 comes with a lower mid-range pricing of Rs 16,999 and will come in a choice of three colour options - Black/Copper, White/Iron and Blue/Gold. The Nokia 8 Sirocco, on the other hand, comes with a premium price tag of Rs 49,999 and will be offered in Black. The Nokia 6 will be available with cash back offers offline and on the Nokia Mobile Shop and select mobile outlets, while the Nokia 7 Plus will be available for pre-booking from April 20 and will go on sale from April 30 on Amazon India, Nokia Mobile Shop and select retail outlets. The 8 Sirocco will be available from April 30 on Flipkart and Nokia Mobile Shop.
There are some launch offers as well such as cashback of Rs 2,000 for Airtel customers on the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 that brings their price down to effectively Rs. 23, 999 and Rs 14,999 as a part of Airtels Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative. Airtel customers will also get an extended free subscription to the Airtel TV app till December 31, 2018. Airtel customers buying the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be able to enjoy an additional data benefit of 120GB.
