Huawei Mate 30 Pro The Huawei Mate 30 Pro has arguably the most impressive camera hardware of any smartphone ever. In addition to the 40MP Super Sensing camera from the P30 Pro, it gains a 40MP ultra wide cam, which Huawei calls the Cine Camera. Both can use the 3D ToF sensor to render bokeh in videos. The third camera on the back is an 8MP shooter with a 3x optical zoom (80mm focal length) and 5x optical hybrid zoom. For comparison, the P30 Pro has a 5x optical and 10x hybrid zoom camera. Both the tele and the wide cameras have Optical Image Stabilization. Back to the two 40MP sensors, they are both physically large and sit behind wide open apertures. 5G and Foldable phones – the two big trends of MWC 2019, and Huawei has made a phone that fits both trends. The Huawei Mate X is the company’s most ambitious device ever, and features not one, not two, but three total screen configurations. It’s also purportedly the world’s fastest 5G phone and features four cameras. Let’s start with the first big trend of MWC: foldable phones. Like so many other companies, Huawei wants to be on-par with, or setting, the latest trends. The Mate X features a large flexible OLED panel on the outside of the phone, which features three distinct display configurations: when flat, it’s an 8” FullView display with no notch and minimal bezels. When folded, the front is a 6.6-inch “daily driver” screen that you’ll use every day, and the rear is a 6.38” screen. Huawei has unveiled the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and Mate 20X in London, its next-gen flagship phones with the all-new HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC. All three phones have triple rear camera modules, while the Mate 20X gets an M-Pen stylus to take on the Galaxy Note 9, along with a massive 7.2-inch display. The Mate 20 and the Mate 20X get a waterdrop display notch at the front, while the Mate 20 Pro gets a VSEL front-facing module for a more secure face unlock experience. Huawei Mate 20 The Huawei Mate 20 features a 6.43-inch full-HD+ (1080×2244 pixels) panel with a small ‘Dewdrop notch’, resulting in an aspect ratio of 18.7:9.
