When  OnePlus announced the OnePlus 6  , the company revealed it was going to come in three different colors: Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Silk White. It did not, however, talk about a fourth option that was also going to be available: a special edition  Avengers: Infinity War -themed OnePlus 6. The special edition OnePlus 6 comes in an unnaturally big box with a lot of extra stuff, but the main attraction is the phone. The key differences from the standard OnePlus 6 and the Avengers-themed version is the texture of the back and accent colors. The slider profile button, for instance, is now gold, as well as the OnePlus logo and the big “A” on the back. Instead of a solid finish on the back, a Kevlar pattern was added with a purple color scheme. This year’s   OnePlus 5   was a great option for anyone looking to spend around $500 on a new smartphone, but there was some room for improvement. That’s why   OnePlus   is launching a brand new flagship, the   OnePlus 5T . We’ve got the official OnePlus 5T specs, and there are some notable improvements to discuss. The most notable difference between the OnePlus 5T and the 5 are the displays. The 5T comes with a 6.01-inch AMOLED display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, while the OnePlus 5 had a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a more traditional 16:9 aspect ratio. Aside from that, both devices are basically the same under the hood. The 5T is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, and comes with 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM (an upgrade from the 5’s LPDDR4 RAM), 64 or 128 GB of storage, and a 3,300 mAh battery. Google is jumping headfirst into the smartphone market  with its new Pixel devices , both of which were announced in San Francisco earlier today. On the surface, they don’t look particularly groundbreaking—it’s fair to say they look like nearly every other smartphone on the market. But Google is making a huge bet on AI with Assistant and the Pixel will be the first  phone with the software built in. Is Google’s AI enough of a draw to sell an entire ecosystem over, say, an iPhone 7? That remains to be seen; Google certainly thinks so. Google Assistant Google Assistant is coming to several of Google’s new products. It’s built into the company’s new chat app, Allo, and powers the upcoming Google Home smart speaker. But the Pixel and Pixel XL put Assistant in your pocket and make it available at a moment’s notice. Just hold down the home button or say “OK Google” to launch the AI assistant and start giving commands. Google Assistant can answer questions, check the weather or play a video. Assistant can even understand follow-up questions so you can carry out a more natural conversation, similar to what Siri offers. It also replaces the company’s old “Now on Tap” feature, bringing up relevant information on whatever you’re currently looking at as soon as it’s activated.
