The Samsung Galaxy S9 a, with AR emojis, real-time translation and a better camera

The two most-awaited Android smartphones of 2018 were unveiled by South Korean tech giant Samsung yesterday at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are the latest flagship devices from Samsung’s stable. 

 Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset, Qualcomm's latest and most-powerful processor as of now.

When it comes to display, there is no change in the size or resolution of the both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ over its predecessors. The Samsung Galaxy S9 sports a 5.8-inch curved QHD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9, just as the Galaxy S8. As for the bigger variant, the Galaxy S9+ has a 6.2-inch Quad HD + Curved Super AMOLED screen on-board.

As expected, the Galaxy S9 has a 4GB RAM under the hood, whereas the Galaxy S9+ has 6GB RAM.

As for the internal storage, both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ have 64GB and 256GB on-board storage.

The Samsung Galaxy S9+ features a dual 12MP camera, whereas the Galaxy S9 has a single 12MP camera. The common 12MP module is a Super Speed Dual Pixel camera with autofocus sensor and OIS. Both the smartphones' camera have a new dual aperture lens that are said to shift from F1.5 to F2.4 based on the lighting conditions. The additional 12MP camera on the Galaxy S9+ is a telephoto module with f/2.4 aperture. At the front, both the handsets feature an 8MP sensor with f/1.7 aperture.

 Apple, Samsung has also introduced an Animoji like feature with its latest flagship smartphones. The smartphone use the selfies to create an AR-based emoji that are said to mimic the users' movements and expressions.

new Galaxy S9 and S9+ now have face recognition and iris scan. Besides this, the handset also features a fingerprint scanner as well.
