iPhone 7 Plus unveiled with dual rear cameras and optical zoom !

Apple just revealed the iPhone 7 Plus on Twitter, confirming the phone’s dual rear cameras and optical zoom. The company hasn’t officially announced any new smartphones yet, but it appears to be accidentally sharing key details using a Twitter account that was dormant until today. Apple says the iPhone 7 Plus offers a pair of new cameras in back for “high-res optical zoom at 2x.”
The company also accidentally confirmed that the iPhone 7 will feature a water-resistant design, but hasn’t revealed the exact IP rating. Another tweet revealed that the new phones will be available on September 16. Apple still hasn’t announced many key details, including price and the rest of the internal hardware. That information should be coming soon, though, so stay tuned.

Apple has since confirmed the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 on stage. The iPhone7 Plus really does offer a dual rear camera setup, which is limited to the larger model. It packs two 12-megapixel cameras. One is a wide-angle lens and the second is a 2x telephoto lens. That gives you high-resolution zoom, and you can still zoom beyond that for up to 10x digital zoom.
Apple also upgraded its Camera up with a new interface for controlling the zoom. Simply swipe the screen to switch between different zooms.
Additionally, the dual cameras offer a special bokeh feature that allows you to focus on one part of the photo and blur the background. It gives pictures an extra sense of depth. The new feature will be available in the camera app using a new option called portrait. The iPhone 7 Plus even offers real-time bokeh while you frame your photos. However, Apple also noted that the depth feature won’t ship with the device. Instead, it will arrive as a free software update later this year.
